In days gone by, when most toys
were home made, cast iron toys were a rare and wonderful gift.

delivery short an item and, when we question it, we told that the item

By today's manufacturing standards,
cast iron can be described as rough, crude, even primitive.
Operating pieces do not always operate well, the finish is rough with
sharp edges; the painting is as rough as the iron. However, these
rough qualities are what makes cast iron so coveted. Cast Iron
products are decorative, interesting pieces, they are not finely made
precision pieces, but reproductions of a manufacturing technology of
by-gone age.
